My Father, listen! Hear my heart!
I lift my pain to You,
All goodness, love, and faithfulness,
All gentle, just, and true!

Don’t judge me for my failures, Lord,
But see my desperate need.
Pursued and crushed and overwhelmed,
I bow, I mourn, I bleed.

But memory turns to all the times
I’ve seen Your tender might.
You turned my tears to songs of praise,
My fears to joy and light.

So here, at rest in all You are
And covered by Your hand,
Lord, form in me a faith at peace
With all Your heart has planned.
