Lyrics

The day was dark, the road to nowhere.
I could not know. I could not see.
A helpless slave to sin and weakness,
Life needed more than I could be.

But then a brightness all-engulfing,
A blazing light from heaven’s throne.
O Christ, You filled my soul and senses,
Now blind to all but You alone.

Your words were true. Your words were simple.
You spoke my name. You spoke Your own.
You named my need, then called me higher
With love my heart had never known.

And now a peace in every sorrow,
A growing trust in all You do,
A deeper life, a greater purpose,
A rich simplicity in You.
