God Gives Us Himself   May I Copy this Hymn?

Before all else existed,
Your heart was boundless love.
You poured Your glorious presence
Within, around, above.
The life of every creature,
The light of every star
Joined all creation singing
The joy of all You are.

Through Israel’s bitter journey
Through bleak, unyielding land,
You stayed right there among them
And held Your children’s hand –
Their cloud and fire and manna,
Their Source in every need,
Their Father, always eager
To comfort, heal, and feed.

Through tent, and then the temple,
Your presence was their light;
Through sin and war and exile,
Their Star in darkest night.
And then one night it happened,
What none could comprehend:
I AM now walked among them,
The Truth, their Light, their Friend.

O God, complete in Jesus,
Forever all we need,
You share Your holy being –
Abundant life indeed!
With wisdom, love, and power,
You pour Your endless wealth.
O Bread for every hunger,
You fully give YOURSELF!
