Lyrics

Pressured, pursued by the angry and proud,
Trampled, condemned by the hate of the crowd,
Tortured, abused as Your Father allowed –
O Lord, You suffered all this for love;
O Christ, You bore it for me.

Deeply betrayed by a treacherous friend,
Silent, abandoned, with none to defend,
Drowning in anguish I can’t comprehend –
O Lord, You suffered all this for love;
O Christ, You bore it for me.

All this, my Lord, so that we could be free,
Free to become all You formed us to be,
Free, yet all one – O what sweet mystery!
What life now pulsing through all Your own!
O Christ, now pulsing through me!
