Transcendent God Almighty,
Eternal, unbegun,
Unbounded and unchallenged,
The Lord -- the only One.
Unfathomed, holy mystery,
And yet Your love is clear:
You come, a helpless infant,
To gently draw us near.

So humble, so delighted
To dwell with us below;
The Source of power and knowledge
Content to learn and grow;
The Sum of all existence
With nothing of Your own;
Our Maker high and holy,
Now earthly flesh and bone.

The worlds are but a whisper,
A hint heard from afar,
The fringes of Your greatness,
A glimpse of all You are.
But fully, in this infant,
The curtain parts above –
Your greatness is Your mercy!
Your glory is Your love!
